Yeah, I also find a lot of points of concurrence...
Some differences. For example, with Angst vs Crack I think I'm more both and neither - I prefer angst mixed with other genres over angst for angst's sake, but I also prefer crack treated seriously (but still hilariously) over what many people end up doing in that genre: just throwing the first crazy things that come into their mind on the page, without, it seems, any editing whatsoever (which results in pretty nigh unreadable stories, often consisting only of incomprehensible dialogue) - which makes me wary of the genre.

Modern AUs I find, for the most part, boring and uninspired - the original non-mundane setting is usually a big part of what made the original story exciting and more often than not also plays a big part in who the characters are, so why would I want to lose that?! I suppose my preference for worldbuilding shows in that - and that it reflects the fact that more often than not, modern AUs seem to take place in modern day big city USA in order to intentionally suppress the environment. I guess if I came across an AU taking place in, say, modern day rural Nigeria where the environment plays a role and I can discover a new country, I'd find that much more exciting. :D
